A Fate Witnessed

 "A Fate Witnessed"

Amidst the clash of swords and blood-stained ground,
The Nephite host in hopeless battle stood,
Their cries unanswered in the fields of blood,
As darkness seemed to press the light around.

Mormon, with faith unshaken, yet unbound,
Beheld his people's path to death's own flood,
A prophet's heart in sorrow understood
That sin's own chains their destiny had crowned.

He called for peace, yet war could not delay,
Drawn near, and ruin's shadow took its place.
In fields once bright, now lost to dark's embrace.
The light of hope seemed ever far away.

Yet still, his soul in Christ did firmly rest,
And mourned the fallen with a prayer-blessed.

Last of the testament
The wait for one is finally here.
Name means more good to those who hear.
Saw our day and wrote what he could.
To our time his words are for good.
He saw and we do in our day.
Happiness in sin is no way.
Your broken heart will inherit
with a truly contrite spirit.
Press forward with pure love of Christ.
Spread good news of that was sacrificed.
Evil influence of satan will destroy
But you can change and find real joy.
